Traditional Garden: Informal
The informal style is relaxed in atmosphere, often fluid in both the overall design and the planting design, using a wide variety of plants. Whilst balance and proportion are always considered, an informal design approaches these from a different perspective, using asymmetry to fulfil design principles. Examples of this style would be gardens with an oriental flavour, cottage gardens, naturalist, wild gardens.
Are you a keen home gardener, with a love of plants and just want full–to-bursting borders with all year round interest? Do you struggle to get the space to feel right and the borders, although full, aren't as successful as you hoped? Then a design with an informal style and an emphasis on strong planting design could be the perfect solution for you.
