The Fundamentals of Style

The term 'style' refers to the ambience, flavour and overall aesthetic of the garden. 'Style' is a result of the design process and all the components that are carefully chosen to create the final desired results. 'Style' must be a consideration from the beginning of the design process, taking the location of the garden, the desires of the client and the sustainability of the site into account.

As you read through the following examples see which one(s) you relate to; think about the styles you like the sound of, and the elements which stand out to you. It is helpful to understand what you like and want before you decide to have your garden designed.

Please remember that all the elements you require in your garden, such as a patio or terrace, play zone, vegetable beds etcetera make up part of your brief and can be incorporated into your garden, whatever the style.
