2. Site Analysis

At an agreed date and time, the designer will return to site to take measurements. They will take note of things such as access to site, boundaries, utilities and drains, and all fixed elements that are to remain. Levels will be taken, however in complex situations a professional land survey may be recommended and a cost given.

A site analysis also involves noting information about the site's environment such as the soil conditions, how the sun moves around the garden and where the sheltered and windy spots are, as well as taking note of any views or vistas.
